Packed as ever. Games are still shittier than ever also. Carnival blackjack games, shitty VP and rough clientele.

Stayed at Circa and Elcortez. I prefer the sweaty Spaniard. They still have an affordable decent 2 deck. Not great, but better that the 6/5 and push 22 bullshit running rampant.

Vegas is crowded, but the quality of the city is definitely declining. I avoid the strip, so I’m speaking of downtown. Homeless, vagrants and hustlers are running wild.

At certain times in my visits the past year, the Strip has been worse than Downtown as far as the seediness goes. And that's saying a lot.

As bad as the strip is, and I agree it is bad, I don't think it will ever match the scum and grim that downtown has to offer. Calling it a cesspool is being somewhat charitable.

Midnight on Friday the masks are back on indoors in Las Vegas. Talk about a step back...the natives will be very restless.

Is this true? Mask back this Friday?

Yes...mask mandate is back in Clark County (Las Vegas/Henderson) starting at midnight on Friday night. Guess we can start the cycle again with gunfire on the strip and thugs on the streets.

Thanks for the report. But downtown is always shady and has it's dregs.

How often are you on the streets personally I plant my flag at the Cosmopolitan. I might cross the bridge to go to Walgreens by the light of day.

Oh, in general and on a normal day, I agree 100%. And it's really not close.

When I made my statement about noticing that the Strip had been worse, I was going on two of my recent visits within the last year. Last December, I made a weekend trip and stayed at Planet Hollywood. Outside, even during the day, was downright scary. It was like downtown on a bad day, but with little to no security around.

A few months later in March, when things really back in the swing, I stayed downtown for a night. Definitely characters out and about like normal, but it was packed and the tourists really were dominant in numbers over the homeless. And the security outside under the canopy was heavy.

I know those were isolated instances and they were in different months with different circumstances as far as things being back open in full swing. But that trip in December the Strip was a cesspool just like downtown. And from what I hear, it was even worse than that earlier in the year when they first started opening casinos back up.

One of the main changes on the strip is that you always saw cops walking around. Now their strategy is they park their car on the strip with the lights flashing and just sit there until something happens. That is directly related to the fact that they would not be safe walking in the crowd.

Cosmo is our home base too. If we do go out, 100% for sure we are headed back there by about 10pm or so. For whatever reason, that area in front of PH and then the area in front of the Bellagio seems to be the gathering places for trouble.

I am glad that I am not the only one. I stayed at Caesars over Memorial Day weekend and it was a rough crowd. Most of the BJ was 6/5, which I won't play and the VP was a fucking joke. I saw people paying 7/5 Double Double Bonus at $.50 and $1.00 multi-play. You had to fight to overpay for food (thank God I had a lot of comps). I saw people paying $8.00 for shitty beer from the bars where all you had to do was sit down and put in a hundy and play $.25 VP. Fuck Vegas.

Kenny...thanks for the details of your visit. Your experience is actually one of the better ones that I have read. Since Eldorado took over CET, the properties have gone from tolerable to why bother? Lots of people flocking to Wynn, Cosmo and Resorts World after they spend all of their comps.

i hope things change at least a little bit, cause i'm going to vegas for the opening week of football.I am assuming there will be a crowd for that weekend, and i hope the mask ordeal is not in effect. It's going to be a bad time if they are in order. If its going to keep getting worse my trips will be far and few between anymore.I can go to NJ instead.

Where you staying brother? Downtown is a shithole, and wasn’t impressed with Circa at all.

Mask will be full force first week in September. Once mask come back, it’s down hill from there.

New mask mandate started at midnight on Thursday night. Was at the Cosmo last night...very crowded, everyone in a mask and people walking around checking to see if you had a mask on. The other hidden problem in the sportsbook is social distancing as they spread the chairs apart and at Caesar's, my wife and I couldn't even pull our chairs next to each other. We have an idiot for a governor so there is no telling how long this lasts or what is next.
